And the weight savings would be huge, but I'm not sure how I feel about having an empty exhaust cutout on the rear diffuser. (sadly I could not find a bigger picture)

People really like the single exit exhausts. I am not sure why. I hate burnt tips though.

Well it's simpler and lighter, so I get it from a functional perspective. And I do sort of like the way it looks here.

I like burnt tips myself.

A company needs to make a rear diffuser with one exhaust exit, then these things would look awesome! I also like the FT86Speedfactory car, looks so awesome, particularly with the lip spoiler.

I'm more curious as to why every manufacturer wants to put dual exhausts on every four cylinder engine in existence. It's silly.

A single pipe, single exit exhaust is lighter and has lower backpressure.

This is true, but I have to live with Toyota's design. I have to go with dual tips for the looks(I am also not going turbo).

Yeah, I tried to post a bigger one.

But Kinja decided that it was going to stop being a web service and start being an asshole.

The weight savings wouldn't be that big. I wouldn't turn my noise up at it, as weight savings are always great, but it won't be huge.

Ya, that does look good like that. That empty cutout and visible pipe really let you know that this is an evil twin.

Stock catback is about 44 pounds, I'd be surprised if this comes in at much more than 10-13.

To me a 75% weight savings is HUGE!

When dual exhausts start getting used on a 150hp Hyundai Tucson, it's played out.

Yeah shitty fourbangers don't need twin exhausts. I could put duals on my two stroke jetski, but that would be tarded and I would lose powah. Very few engines benefit from zero-ish backpressure. For teh massive weight savings they should just run open headers to the quarter panel duhhh. Just kidding.

Nah I actually do like em, first it looks cool, second if your going to pay for the titanium exhaust (?) or whatever expensive exotic coating does that, your gonna want more than internet fanboys to notice. All in all, fuck the GT86 for being a gutless shell of a vehicle. It could of been just a lil more, then you wouldnt have to hear people saying "well the torque is a adequate" No the car isnt a Bentley. Id shit all over these cars in plenty older vehicles, and its just sad its not really much faster than a Camry in a straight line.

Right-click ==> View Image ==> change "ku-medium.jpg" or "ku-xlarge.jpg" or whatever else it says at end to hyperlink to "ku-bigpic.jpg" or "original.jpg"

But your original is larger than Decay's original so your point still stands. Either way, it's a neat trick I figured out.

Having a dual exhaust on the Toyobaru is only cool if it's a true dual exhaust, as in one per cylinder bank. My rule is that if it's an inline engine, it shouldn't have more than one exit. See for instance: how stupid Miatas with dual exhausts look. If it's a V or flat engine then it should have dual exhausts, or one per cylinder bank.

It is not even a true dual exhaust. The gasses from the engine are sent into a single collector and then sent out through a single pipe. Toyota decide to give it two exhaust pipes though. I don't really mind the single exhaust(on any car) but on the GT86 it just looks kind of weird with an empty opening.

That's what I feared... Someone should make it a proper dual exhaust, or at least an X pipe.

Oh yeah in terms of the exhaust system that's good, but I thought you were talking about in relation to the whole car.
